Download the installer for your platform from the Downloads page. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts — the process typically takes under two minutes. Once installed, launch Case Builder and enter your license key to activate.

Case Builder checks for updates automatically in the background. When a new version is available, you'll see a notification inside the application. You can install updates immediately or defer them. Critical security patches are applied automatically.

Yes. Case Builder is designed as an offline-first desktop application. All case documents and annotations are stored locally. An internet connection is only required for initial activation, periodic license validation, and optional cloud sync features.

Your case data is stored in an encrypted local database on your device. You can view and change the storage path in Settings → Storage. Professional and Enterprise plans also offer optional encrypted cloud backup.

Open Settings → License on your current device and click "Deactivate on this device." You can then activate the same license key on your new machine. Each plan defines the number of simultaneous activations allowed.

All data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. Sensitive credentials are stored using your operating system's native secure storage — Windows Credential Manager on Windows and Keychain on macOS. All network traffic uses TLS 1.3.

Go to Settings → Backup to configure automatic backups to a local folder, external drive, or network location. We recommend daily backups for active matters. Professional and Enterprise plans include encrypted cloud backup.
